Panasonic R7 adds SSD option
For the summer lineup, Panasonic adds 32G Solid State hard drive option to its Panasonic R7 Premium model (the black casing). Installed SSD is the “MCBQE32G5MPP-0VA” made of SAMSUNG. The 2.5-inch drive is using the SATA II interface with 32GB in capacity. The advantage of this obviously is the improvement of a virtual speed, lighter weight, the extension of the battery life and decrease of fan noise.
It is surprising to me that Panasonic choose to use 32G SSD instead of the higher capacity. Most of other vendors have already offered SSD with both 40G and 64G in size. With Windows Vista installed, the 32G size is definitely a limitation that I hope Panasonic will re-consider.
Along with the 32G SSD offer, for the premium lineup, Panasonic R7 also offers the model with 320GB Hard Drive.
